I am the Vedic womanhood of yore
I tend the fields and feed the buffalo
I keep alive the holy Vedic lore
And worship water as the Mother’s flow
The fire I light each morn before the dawn
I call for strength and force inside the heart
I pray each day that I will be reborn
While tending fields to know I am a part
Of Mother-Nature’s growth within and out,
To love Her corn as my family,
I give what I can give to fight the doubt
That the clouds will bring to harvest me.
I am a woman simple and demure
I fight for what is right and always pure.
